why not ask for donations thru a school or church? Even a fabric store may donate. They can write it off in taxes. It's worth a try.

I live in SF area and have sewing material to donate. Prefer to drop it off.

I would highly sugget heading to the following places and posting on the forums there:

etsy.com, which is a craft-selling site but has active forums, including a good amount of charity projects;

and craftster.org, a site which is nothing but a massive craft forum and would probably have plenty of people willing to help.
