Also, I have a dog 4 times his sive and they play pretty rough. .It could be an infection from the teeth being pulled, but you should have received antibiotics after that was done. If you did receive antibiotics but didn't give them (or give them as recommended) and still have some left, I'd start giving them again as a precaution.
It could be an abscess. Sometimes when animals play or fight, they bite or scratch which leads to a boil like thing on their skin.
It will either pop on it's own, or the doctor will drain it tomorrow if you get an appointment.
You might be able to put a warm compress on it to bring it to a head if it's an abscess. That will also make it a bit less painful for him.
I would definitely ring the vet tomorrow and see what they say. If you say it's painful, then I would believe they would want to see him tomorrow, especially since he did have teeth pulled.
Hope this helps, good luck.

It could be an abcess because our dog kept yelping when we would touch the area underneath his ear. We looked in his ear but couldn't see anything. Finally one day we checked around his jaw/neck area and found a huge lump about the size of a walnut. Before we got him to the vet, it burst and it was pretty nasty. But immediately he felt better with no pain. I think our dog probably had that thing for a couple weeks before it burst. Also, i wonder if your dog could just have a swollen lymph gland due to the tooth being pulled. I think you should take him to the vet on Monday. I don't think this would be an emergency. But you or your vet would have to decide. I think it really helps to be able to ask a question on here, you get a lot of answers then you can better decide.
Good Luck...... Let us know what happened.

If you think it is an abscess and the pus has already cpme out, sure it is just an abscess. Try to press around the area so the pus will come out, wipe it out with a tissue an dwhen there's no more coming out, disinfect it with povidone-iodine or other disinfectant. If you have an antibiotic give him. For example Ampicillin preparation, it is about 20 mg per kg. Just compute and give it 3 times daily for about 5 to 7 days. It will be okay. Better yet bring him to the vet. Good luck.

The teeth could be the cause... but i have had a dog have this before it was from a bite from another dog.. the punture wounds seal up with out letting the wound drain... Take him to the vet tomorrow... If you see any change in the activity level of your pup take him today .

My 8 yr old labrador had a lump on his elbow over the summer and one on his side,we took him to the vet and had a biopsy done on the lumps but thankfully they were only cyst type things and were fine-apparently they were like pimples! I would definatly take your dog to the vet and get it checked out,it could be nothing but you don't want to take the chance!
