I am not from the states but could someone please tell me why cookies are such a big thing at christmas there?

♥ ♥ Well cookies for us Americans are like another way of celebrating the holidays.....Its just a little thing that goes along with it......If there werent any cookies.....it would be like no xmas tree on xmas day!
Its just a very old tradition =)

They are easy to make, they keep very well, there are a lot of different kinds, most people love them.
They are like a snack food. They are acceptable as a quick refreshment at most occasions.

Kids love cookies
they are easy to make
they can be decorated to be for any holiday
there are a variety of different cookies
taste good
good for gifts
