Question about Yahoo Messenger/Chat.?

I'm using the latest version of messenger and I would like to ignore anyone who isn't on my messenger list .. but when I select the setting I cannot view any text in the chat room's . Then I chose the " ignore the people below " setting , tried the chat room again , and it worked just fine . Can anyone help me with this ?

Unfortunately this is a problem with the newer Yahoo! Messengers.

If you're using Yahoo! Messenger 7.5 version or above, setting preferences to allow IMs from only people on your list ("Ignore Anyone not on My Messenger List") will cause the issue with not being able to see anyone typing in the chat rooms if they are NOT on your friend's list.

For Yahoo! Messenger 7.0 version and below, you can restrict your instant messages so that only your friends can im/pm you and no one else. To do this Click on Messenger, Preferences, Ignore List and choose the first option "Ignore Anyone Not on My Messenger List."

There isn't anyway to change this. If your looking at ways to change settings for better boot protection, this page may help you.
