Anyone's baby "fake" cough?
Sometimes when my baby is playing by himself, he will see me and start kind of fake coughing. Is this weird or something to worry about?

Take it as when they fall down and get hurt, if mommy isn't watching they play again, but if mommy is watching, then they cry.....
I wouldn't worry about it.

No nothing to worry about my baby does it to and shes healthy. She is three months and for the last month she will get so excited she will go *cough *cough *cough *cough *cough on purpose. Its totally a fake cough but I love it its so cute. Its usually when shes in play too.

How old is your baby? As a mother of two, going on three, I found that both my kids liked to do things of that nature. Your son/daughter may have simply seen you or another family member coughing, and is copying . Silly as it sounds, yes, even for attention. I wouldn'worry about it. If it continues or get worse, then maybe see the dr. But remember, children are "little sponges", they absorb everything we say and do very early in life....don't worry too much!

Don't worry. If you can tell it's a "fake" cough, give him an oh, poor baby, hug him, and let him go about his business. He's just looking for attention.

My 6 month old son does this too, sometimes at first it's a real cough but then he thinks it's funny so he keeps doing it and laughs everytime, it's the cutest thing! Don't worry about it at all, just enjoy it!

no, it is not weird. My son got sick and got spoiled cause i would tend to his every need. So after he got all better he thought if he would fake cough i would come to him.
he is just trying to get your attention thats all nothing to worry about just being a baby

My daughter pretend coughs for interest. She discovered that once she coughed i'd seem at her, or examine her if she did it lengthy adequate and now she does it with a grin on her face to get mommy to seem at her on occasion.

it's nothing to worry about. My daughter used to 'fake' cough when she was younger especially when people were around. And now at 12 months she still 'fake'coughs especially after she hears me,her dad,or her 3 brothers cough.

No... the baby is just trying out sounds and your reactions to them. My daughter (19 months) tries to make a choking sound if I'm cooking or can't give her my undivided attention. He's just trying to communicate with you and testing out the noises he can make and how you respond.
