BRAKE LT CIRCUIT message in 1990 BMW 525i?

Hello geeks,

i am getting a BRAKE LT CIRCUIT message in my car when I press the brake when the car is on the move.My brake lights are glowing fine.Your advices will help to solve the problem.The same message goes away when I restart my car.

    Brake lites and tail lights are different. Tail lites glow, brake lites are much brighter. Turn on your hazard flashers and check if all four are flashing, if not you have a bulb with a filament out. needs replaced.

    RE: BMW 525i Brake Light Circuit warning? The dash reads, Brake Light Circuit, but the brake lights work fine. What can I do to turn off the warning light on dash? Need to know from someone who really knows.

    Check your 3rd brake light also.
