Do you find this funny?

God choose nothing, she's got better things to do.

It was of course totally in the interest of the priests that the faithful should consider themselves as sheep, who need guidance and are too stupid to go anywhere but where they are driven.

No, it's not funny what you said. What's funny is that you don't understand why God chose the sheep. I mean, what's so hard?

God compared the true Christians with sheep because they are tame and the people who don't care about his laws with goats because they are stubborn. So, I think you are a goat.

    I find it fitting.

God is often referred to as the Lord.

Religion was strongest during the feudal times. A lord at this time would rule over a small amount of land, protecting the peasants nearby. In return, the peasants would pledge their loyalty to the lord, and become his servants. The lord would make decisions for them, legislate, and basically lead their life.

How is this any different from God? A common phrase is 'give your life over to the Lord'. It just seems that God is a way to unite so many different people under a feudal lord, while offering them rewards such as eternal life.

Why has Christianity survived? Because it worked. There still is that large group of people that identify themselves as God's nation, and as long as they continue to indoctrinate their children, Christianity will survive.

Not at all - we ARE like sheep - following the 'leader' in how we dress, wear our hair, and what we drive. Every ad on TV is geared towards us sheep - trying to lead us into their stores. Because God gave us freedom of choice, He knew we would make some bad choices along the way, the worst one being choosing NOT to follow Him. To know Him is to love Him!

    God bless and Merry Christmas!

The thing is that the sheep don't realize they're unintelligent and so they will do things to actually injure themselves. Sheep, if started toward a cliff, will run off the cliff... not one of them will stop.

It's not that they're stupid, just really lacking in common sense. That's why we need a merciful, loving God to guide us... the Good Shepherd.

There are more unintelligent ones. Sheep were chosen as an example for their passivity and group mentality-- perfect for a religion that expects conformity.

a sheep one of Gods flock was the perfect sacrifice for sin ,, Jesus,, and the goats are the ones to burn forever in a lake of fire ,, remember the first sacrifice of thanx to God was Ables perfect LAMB ,,get it ,,also Jesus and others used the things and the animals around them as examples to teach lessons in what God really wants out of a flock of folkes

Source(s): rather be a dumb animal than a dead goat

If I'm not mistaken, you're wiccan based on your response to a question i just answered a few minutes ago so if you don't think its funny that your entire belief system is based on magic spells and a real life harry potter fantasy, then you probably shouldn't be the judge of how funny God is.

I've always found it funny. Sheep are followers who can't live without the shepherd. Some people are very happy to accept that analogy, but it sounds awful to me.

Easily led and brainless. Sheep or Christians? Tough call.
