Are Men Really as Sick as these:?
Following is an answer I gave about why US men are circumcised.
byderule, I don't know what women you are talking to. This is not true. Most women that I know prefer what was given at birth, not a lack of it. It is not better. Unless you know something us females don't. I won't go there though. You probably only say that because you are circumcised. If you weren't, you would be much more pleased, I bet. Maybe you are angry that you are circumcised, so you make excuses for it like most.
You know, I am from America and I've always wondered why people are so hell bent on getting their sons' penis cut. It doesn't make sense to me at all. It's disgusting if you really think about it. And you're right, there is no proof of any of that germ mambo jumbo crap. I vow not to get my sons circumcised; EVER! It's wrong I believe. Source(s): Less is not more people!

DougDoug, did you not understand my question? I'm not upset about circumcision; could care less if people put their son through that, but why should men be so upset to e-mail me like that? You didn't answer that question. Is it because you can't? Because you have a problem with what I said as well? Get over yourself. The question really isn't about circumcision, now is it? It's about men. Don't attempt to answer if you can't.
First answerer, I guess so. Just look at DougDoug's response, not to mention that none of what he says actually answers anything.
Scuba...please give it up. I could care less what researchers say. If germs and such were a big deal, wouldn't those men who are uncircumcised come forward and beg people to have it done? You didn't answer my question either...the question was if there are other men as sick as the ones who e-mailed me, not about circumcision. The argument you give is what everyone else says, too. I have yet to hear a unique one.

And yes, there is some sickness out there. Just skimming the messages you got, one could say you actually got off light.

Is it lonely up there on your pedistal?
This is people's personal or religious preference. Most US men and women who choose circumcision do so because its what they're used to, and what they're comfortable with. If you don't like it, then that's fine. By the way, it was my wife who choose circumcision for my son
By the way, it IS healthier. Proper hygine eliminates most health risks...but there aren't too many boys who practice proper hygine now are there.
I think a better question is: Why are you so upset about it?

CIRCUMCISION IS VERY BENEFICIAL, its cleaner and several research bodies have concluded that circumcised men have less risk of contracting STD's such as AIDS-HIV or herpes.
Uncircumcised penises are difficult to keep clean, and more prone to infections and penile cancer, studies have shown.
A circumcised penis is naturally clean and virtually free from urinary infection. You will not have to worry again with careful washing of your penis.
Is it NOT true that the AAP (American Academy of Paediatrics) does not recommend circumcision. They simply say they leave the decision to parents. But recently, and specially after the New Zealand study, the AAP has been discussing if it may be necessary to change their policy and recommend circumcision to all newborns as they used to do, so in the future we may see that the AAP advocates again circumcision.

About STD's:
As I said, several studies carried out by prestigious research bodies have concluded that uncircumcised penises are more prone to infections and contraction of STD's, including AIDS-HIV. No medical or physiological study has proved that circumcision reduces sensitivity, opposed to common belief. It is completely FALSE that circumcision reduces penis sensitivity. Circumcision is an easy and nowadays *painless* procedure, which has many benefits, and virtually no risks.
Circumcision is NOT an amputation. Circumcision is NOT comparable at all to female circumcision, which is something completely different.
Circumcision rates are INCREASING nowadays, both in the United States and overseas. Many African and South American countries with little circumcision tradition are starting to promote the procedure to help to reduce the AIDS-HIV infection rates.
