yes she's from thailand. as for the career, "Tata Amita Marie Young was born in Thailand on December 14, 1980, the only daughter of an American father and a Thai mother. i dont know if she is from thailand but, she sang in dhoom (an indian movie) in english and got really famous for it....sorry i couldnt help
