How much do you value Yahoo Answers?

How much do you guys value Yahoo Answers? Is it something that you totally trust? Or something you do for the kicks? When you give an answer, it is solely to help the person who asks the question? Or are you the kind that gives the sarcastic answers?

For me, being young, there aren't a lot of people I can give advice to. The only advice I give is usually to my friends and to my siblings. But when adults have issues, they normally don't confront kids, whether or not a kid might have a solution to their problem. I don't understand why the elderly never ask the younger people for advice. But in here, it's alright to ask for advice no matter the age. I feel as if what I do here actually might help someone, if it's to help them to put the battery in the right direction or even to save a person's life from suicide. So I put my all into answering questions that I answer. So what about you guys?

As far as answers (for my questions) are concerned, it's like any advice I receive - I just take it as it comes. It may help, it may not, I may totally disagree, but I'm no worse off for considering the response.

When it comes to other people's questions, I try and consider their background and their reasons for asking the questions. I generally try hard not to respond to questions that are designed to bait an argument. If a humourous answer is warranted, then I'll try to provide one. If I feel I can be informative on a given topic, then I'll give any information I have in a non-judgemental way. When a question comes along that plainly contains misinformation or propaganda, and I feel that I can make an observation, I'll place a comment to counter the question.

Often people are asking online because they don't believe they can receive an impartial answer in their own circle of friends and family. Given the faceless nature of the internet, it is easier to get an answer without any negative body language or facial cues from the respondent. I hope my answers are better than average in quality, and at least give them something to consider.

Well, it's a helpful tool for the questions that are too hard to ask, or the ones where you want an opinion from people who dont know you. Some of the members on here arent the most trustworthy, but you do get some really good answers and opinions. I like to put all of my effort into answers, but if there is a question, like, do you believe in Santa, I'm not going to write a twelve paragraph essay on how I feel about Santa. But most questions, I care about and like to help all I can.

*"How much do you guys value Yahoo Answers?"

    A lot

*"Is it something that you totally trust?"

Not "totally".. But it's been helpful many times

*"Or something you do for the kicks?"

    That too.. It is fun!

*"When you give an answer, it is solely to help the person who asks the question?"

Depends on the question... If I can tell they really need help.. And I know I can help.. Then I help them.

If its a stupid question.. Then sometimes I give stupid answers..

*"Or are you the kind that gives the sarcastic answers?"

    See above

its not so much about value... i figure since i joined i didnt really know that much about people. its more or less about learning new things, and giving out your own personal experiences and knowledge. i've read things impossible or unbelievable, i've felt relieved when finding out some people have/had similar dilemmas as i've had and that at times we tend to live in our own little bubbles and believe that certain things only happen on tv. i've learned what peoples views are on my country and people (some werent educated views)... its like a course in psychology because i'm intrigued by most of th questions asked and some of the replies recieved. its of no huge value, but quite intriguing to me... thats why i keep coming back.

I'm with you 110% Ihave helped a ton of people and a huge ditto back to me. I have learned so much from this little website thingy and I would love to thank the creators. even though sometimes their are assholes and a lot of prejudice on this website I learn from that to. just what this world has to offer and what the world is like through others lives. all this just by clicking a few letters on my keypad and sending them around the world isn't that amazing have you ever thought about it. helping and saving lives by putting powerful life changing messages through letters on a keypad. THATS AMAZING

I do put my all in "important" questions. If they're stupid questions like for example: Is "put guys name here" hot! I'll just give a simple yes or no. But yeah yahoo answers is important to me!
