How can I make a bootable copy of my WinXP Pro installation disk?
I have a licensed copy of WinXP Pro and would like to make a backup copy in case the original fails (which has happened to other program CDs). But when I copy the disk to a blank CD-R disk, that disk won't boot. Apparently some needed file isn't getting copied. Any ideas how to make the copy bootable? I know there is a way, because a friend has done the same thing and ended up with a bootable copy. But we cannot figure out why his copy works and mine doesn't.

u cant just copy he files and burn as data ... u need an app that can make an image of the disk in order to save out the boot info and reburn it to the proper sectors... blindwrite is good , alcohol120 is ok .. nero maybe .. you can also use somthing like magic iso and save out the boot info of any bootable disk or even use a bootable floppy as a boot-bin, then burn a bootable cd or dvd using ur xp files and the boot info from wherever ..

There ia an img file that you need to make your disc bootable. How soon do you need your disc corrected? I have a copy of the img file,which has been tested to make sure it works. All thevother ways of doing a copy of your installation CD is fine, but if it wont auto-run, then the img file is all you need.

as long as you have a valid XP Key for that computing device, you will desire to attempt going to a community computing device shop and asking them to burn you a replica of XP professional or homestead for that computing device. (Which ever it became working... a house XP Key won't artwork with a expert CD and vice versa) I had to try this as quickly as and it fee me ten money CND which whilst in comparison with the hours it may take you to construct a CD, somewhat actual worth the fee.

You can slipstream it and all the drivers for it using BART PE
