It depends on what type of medical profession you are looking into. Before med school there are tests like MCAT, or DCAT, etc. But to become a doctor I believe you must pass the USMLE exam. You need to pass this test in order to get your license. It is broken up in three parts, 1st part is taken after your second year, 2nd after your 4th year, and third part taken after your internship. Therefore don't major in premedicine but take classes that will lead you to being a doctor. Med schools aren't looking for students who major in premedicine or a science (biology, etc.). They are looking for a well rounded student. Majoring in premed or in a science does not improve your chances of getting in. I just found this out and now I'm undecided with a major. You want to major in something that you can use, just in case you change your mind or don't get accepted just yet. Once you do pass the MCAT, as a doctor you will be administered with a test every 7 years. You have to pass this test to be a doctor. i don't know the name of the test, but it tells whether or not you will stay a doctor.
