    I think what you mean is how to denote a quantity in terms of its size relative to a fundamental size.

    Here you will need a prefix to add to the quantity to give it its appropriate magnitude:

    Same as centi added to metre gives one hundredth of a metre - centimetre, adding hecto to metre will give you hectometre, a quantity that equals 100 metres.

    Therefore something that is hundred times bigger than a "thing" is a hecto"thing".
