Help, my dog got into a sticky trap(for mice) and has glue all stuck in her fur?

Look on the box and you will see that mineral oil will remove it. At least that what it says on the box of the sticky traps I use. Catch the little buggers wash em down with mineral oil then take them to the woods and let them out. Or take them to my enemies houses and let them out. If I need to get even for something,.

DO NOT USE ALCHOHOL! Dishwashing liquid works best. My hamster got stuck into a mice trap once, too. And my dad used dishwashing liquid to bathe him, and it totally worked!

SERIOUSLY, it worked. You don't have to believe me, though. It's your choice.

P.S. Stain-relieve oil also works, but take it to the vet if you think it's better that way.

So you should wash the dog with small amount of oil and then use soap or shampoo for dogs.

I live in Texas where it has been flooding and have found several scorpions in my house so I set some sticky traps. My standard poodle that has long hair on legs stepped on one and got all caught in hair and all over my floor. I have tried several things on floor and could not get the sticky crap off. I looked up and found these answers and immediately looked for my essential oils. I have on that is called miracle oil and used it on my dogs hair and the floor. I gave yet to bathe him because it takes so much time to groom him but thanks for the answers, really helped.

Goo Be Gone at Wal-mart.spray it on your fingers and rub it on the fur and then wash him good,it will come right off! And don't put sticky mouse traps anyware another animal can get to it!

i would use lots of hot water or warm with soap and scrub it in but not to hard to hurt the dog and it should come right out ihad a problem like that but a different kind of glue

usually a light weight oil works for separating the glue. oil get the glue and the soap gets the oil.

mayonaise or peanut butter. Work it into the area with your fingers then wash the area off. Come to think about it a really good conditioner will probably work well too.

the best thing to do is take it to a professional groomer and let them shave it off. because if it gets stuck in between the pads (on the bottom of her foot) and forms a mat it is going to be very uncomfortable for your dog. to walk on. also the hair it is on is just going to get more and more tangled, so best just to get it off and start over
