from the word territorial, we know that it means land. so, territorial competition has to do with the fight over land and more specifically, the resources. It can be intraspecies or interspecies, meaning between the same species or the between species. usually the term crowding out or displacement is used to describe the process.

It's the competition for territory, like when weeds try to crowd out the other plants in a lawn or garden, or when animals compete for the same food supply or dominance within the same area.
