He actually said that he had matured as an actor since the Friday movie, and wanted to be taken more seriously and do more mature roles, like Rush Hour and sequel.

I wish he would come back, dj pookie is ok as craig's cousin but he needs SMOKEY and the 3rd friday movie was just dumb as hell

Because, the last two were bombs in the theater. He don't want to be attached to a unsuccessful movie franchise.
