2000 Impala Power Door Locks?
My 2000 Impala LS driver door won't lock anymore, power or otherwise. I've even been locked in/out more than once. I don't hear that quiet click when the fob button is pushed. Easy to fix?
Price estimate? Please only qualified techs only. Thanks.

it is possible the lock rod inside the door came disconnected, but another thing thats common on that car is the electric actuator inside the door has stopped working or is seized. It's probably not a job you want to tackle yourself because if you're not careful taking the door panel off you could break the plastic clips that hold it on. you also have to be careful disconnecting the electrical connections so those don't break. I would recommend taking it to a garage you trust. diagnose time on a problem like this shouldn't be more then an hour that can cost up to $80 it depends on the garages hourly rate every one varies. as far as how much to fix can't really tell til know what the problem is.if it is the actuator that goes for around $100 I believe if the rod just needs to be reattached shouldn't even be close to that. well hope this helps some good luck

you answered your own question! Take the car to a repair or body shop and you will have to have the door taken apart to see what broke! and find out what the parts needed and the hours listed in e estimateor to replace them most shops charge anywhere from 50 to 100 dololars an hour

If it's not going to lock manually, then fixing it will probably require taking of the door panel and examining the mechanics of it.
