How do we know it wasn't a crazy person?
Ok a question about the bible.......How do we know it wasn't a crazy person who wrote the bible? It could have been some crazy guy who believed we all need to live the way he believed was right, i mean no one today can honestly say they were there to see Jesus come to life again right, it could have been like Chinese whispers and maybe that is why we have so many gods and churches because by the time the story got around to everyone it was totally different!!!!!
Tell me what you think, do you believe we came from god creating the earth in 7 days maybe monkeys or do u have your own theory?

More then 1 person wrote the Bible...
the Bible was written over 1500 years by 38 authors
And it was 6 days not 7 (God rested on the 7th day)

Crazy people write things all the time. A guy who some might call a loon today wrote an Astronomy Text that says Pluto is a Planet, we have 9 Planets and the the Universe is in a Steady State and he had all sorts of Ph Ds and all of his conclusions are now considered or proved to be wrong and that book was only written 70 years ago.
Freud is considered a Loon for his work in Psychiatry. No one pays attention to his work anymore. Yet he is the father of Modern Psychiatry.
Once upon a time Medical Doctors thought letting out your blood made you well, so blood letting was popular among medical Scientists.
In 1960 they thought cutting part of your brain, zapping you with electricity or injecting you with insulin would cure your insanity.
Today if you have a hyperactive child they give them a cousin of LSD to keep them "manageable." It's called Ritilan.
This is the legacy of science.
The legacy of God is Not To Kill, Not to Steal, Not To drool at what your neighbor has.
The legacy of Jesus is to love your neighbors and enemies.
You tell me who is crazy and who isn't.
Dr. Carl Sagan says, on his Cosmic time table, the Universe is a month old and Man is barely a few minutes old, made in the first hour of the last day of the first month.
So, your life amounts to a second or two in the time frame of things.
Man's job is to pick their own absurdities to live by and believe in.

I am a muslim. This means I believe in God; angels, His messengers, Holy books, the afterlife and fate. Whether the Bible the way it is now is what was originally revealed or not is not the issue here.
I believe the universe was created in seven days and we are here on earth because Allah created us and meant us to be here for a reason not kept secret, but mentioned in the Quran (not sure about other books as I only read parts of them).
There will come a day when we know everything for sure. Till this day comes, ...

Hardly anyone alive today saw Hitler either. What's your point? A book that has the power to change so many lives should be studied with respect. The Bible itself tells us that it is God who is the author of His book. The Bible also validates its divine authorship through fulfilled prophecies. An astonishing 668 prophecies have been fulfilled and none have ever been proven false (three are unconfirmed). An honest study of biblical prophecy will compellingly show the divine authorship of the Bible. Further, archaeology confirms (or in some cases supports) accounts in the biblical record. No other holy book comes close to the Bible in the amount of evidence supporting its divine authorship.

Yes, I do believe that God created the world in 7 days , with all the beauty that it encompasses, after Adam and Eve gave in to temptation, evil was created.
As far as who wrote the bible? Many people did...not just one person....so I don't believe it was a crazy person....

actually it was written by about 40 authors over a period of 1500 years and it was written in at least 3 languages....and, incredibly, they all (the authors) agree on every major topic presented....think about that : have you been in a group of 3 or more where everyone agrees on a controversial subject like God? I believe God guided the writers through his Holy Spirit...Archeology has yet to dig up anything that contradicts the Bible.......The prophecies in the Bible defy the odds of chance and coincidence....the Hebrew and Greek that it was written in are both alpha-numeric alphabets and there are amazing number patterns throughout the Bible that also defy the odds and coincidence....If God was trying to get his message out , then this book that is everywhere and in hundreds of languages, would be it !

Nobody claims *one person* wrote the bible. A whole bunch of people did. It happened over 2000 years ago when they believed a lot of things that other bronze age people believed - like a flat earth and sickness comes from demons, etc.
Nobody claims that someone wrote a record of Christ while he was alive. Even Christians admit the accounts were written decades later. Nobody claims to have "originals" of the accounts. They were copied and recopied by people 1800 years ago.
Written by a nutjob? No. But reliable? Hell NO!

The funny thing is that if someone today said that they were the son of god, or that they spoke to god as a burning bush, or that they just parted a large body of water, people would think they were nuts. Why then do they choose to believe the stories written about these events? Its so confusing to me.

Well Missy, your words reveal you don't know a whole lot about the history of the Bible.
It was contributed to by 40 different people, over a span of 1600 years.
Some of the 40 people were simple farmers, others were kings ....and everything in-between.
The fact that the Bible is harmonious under those writing conditions indicates it must have but one author.
One author who can live at least 1600 years .....let's see: God!?

And that's why it's called 'Broken Telephone'! Who can be sure the story didn't change from person to person!
But I still believe in the God the Jews believe in...and the whole creation story!
