It sounds as if you are getting some arthritic pain. Arthritis, much to our surprise, affects young as well as old people.

Do you notice it becomes worse when the weather changes (becomes damp, for instance?) Take a couple of Advil when the pain starts and try using a heating pad or hot compress for 20 minutes.

If you do not believe it is arthritic perhaps it is overuse of your hand when using the mouse? Advil and a heat compress will also work.

It could indeed be arthritis since not just the old are affected.

You can try over the counter pain medication (Tylenol) to releive the pain, but a doctor should be consulted since it could be a sign of more serious condition.

It sounds like carpal tunnel to me. You should watch your hand position while typing, get a brace or one of those fancy wrist rests.

I once got carpal tunnel playing guitar, so just be careful how you are using your finger and hand muscles.

I don't know what is wrong with your hand BUT you can get arthritis at any age. It is more common for older folks but anyone can get it.

If the pain persists see a doctor.
