Adding to the question I asked earlier?

Christmas day....... I am wanting to spend Christmas day with my family and Christmas eve with his.

I had some nasty responses saying I was being selfish.

The reason for this suggestion to my husband about this is because I am very close to my family as well as him. And he is not very close to his family at all.

When we have Christmas with his family they make me feel very uncomfortable around them, as if I am a horrible addition to his family. My husband knows they dont like me. That is why I dont want to spend Christmas day with them because it would just make that day horrible for me.

I feel there was no reason for my husband to be mad at me for suggesting that to him.... but I got hell for it.

I hope you understand what I am talking about.... if not please look at the question I asked earlier. Thank you and have a happy Holiday.

i don't think you were wrong in the least to suggest doing things that way. but how about you try doing it a little more different. you don't go anywhere. have them come to you. have Christmas at your house on Christmas eve. i get that his side of the family makes you uncomfortable. it was the same way with my ex. but at least this way they are in your house and you can expect respect. then on Christmas day, whine down and just stay home and relax with your husband and kids. Merry Christmas and i hope things work out for you.

When you are facing this kind of delima you should compromise, where did you spend Christmas Day/eve last year? It should be the opposite this year...
