First of all, If you already have DSL. i Suggest swiching to broadband (if you want to, you dont absolutly have to get broadband for this to work.) Broadband is much faster. (Broadband basic is most commonly at a speed of 100 Mbps)
THIS PART IS IF YOU HAVE MORE THAN ONE COMPUTER:
if you have more than one computer hooked up via DSL. You will most likely have a router.which is the box with attennans (some dont have anttena) near or next to your DSL modem.
I dont know if this will work, but its worth a try.
On the back your your tivo unit you have USB ports. Go to the store and see if you can find on of those USB wireless cards. NOTE: before you do buy those USB wireless card,MAKE sure that is will work your router. If you have a more newer router it will most likely transmit wireless-g/b. Make sure it is compatable with your router. When you purchase one of the USB wireless cards. Plug the USB wireless card into the USB slot of your Tivo box.
Im not really sure if it will work, because it would've been easyer if it had an ethernet port. The tivo model i was looking at was the Series2 5xx-generation.
FOR IF YOU DONT HAVE ROUTER:
Ok, so you have DSL,but no router. Go to your local electronics store and look for a router that is rated for use with DSL and Broadband use. Once you have your router hooked up to your DSL modem, Follow the steeps listed above this.
***NOTE***
Im not a Tivo professional,so consider asking your TV provider for information about this topic. I would be guessing you have DirectTV. Since that is the provider with a DVR named Tivo,so consider calling DirectTV Customer Service.
