best bet is to start a one or even few compost piles and put the poop in there. Added all your lawn clippings, veggi scraps, leaves, etc and let them all breakdown to a free usable form of ferilizer and much for your yard.

You don't have to LOOK at the answers that aren't serious, but you're gonna get them! It's just too good of an opportunity. LOL

To answer your question, there are problems with using it for fertilizer, but I suppose it would work.

Animals which eat just plant materials have manure which doesn't produce a lot of smell, therefore they can be used as fertilizers. Dogs and other meat eaters produce waste that smells bad, and is therefore not a good idea to spread it where people are going to be near.

However, if it is thrown in the woods or in a field or left on the lawn, it certainly does release nutrients. So, if you can dry and mix the mess to make it less potent, it can be used for fertilizers in out of the way places.

    Good luck.

  • No it should be bagged up and thrown away.. Dog manure harbors harmful bacteria and other diseases.. It is the worst thing there is. Never use it for fertilizer..

wherever you use it it will have to be composted to reduce its strength , you don't want it to burn your lawn , and avoid areas of the garden that you will plant root crops in , they will "look weird " . try to put it where the plants have high nutrient demand , for the first year, then you can rotate in roots on year 2 , or if you have fruit trees they can handle it right from the composter, good luck.
