Help!!Computer Crisis!!?
My sisters computer is not responding. You can click on icons on the desktop but nothing works. The icons still highlight like their supposed to when you click them. Any ideas would be appreciated!!! restarting does not help.

Sounds like a worm or sumkind of virus intefering with ur input commands....u gotta get rid of ur operating system and reinstall it.
if u havent got the windows disk then call the computer technicians to help. Formating ur hdd through 'dos' should kill off any harmful..well any kind of software u had installed. after ur new windows has been installed then install the other support softwares u need for graphics, sound etc.

could be possible virus activity...
disconnect the physical internet connection. unplug the computer or try the button on the power supply (back of computer) to power off. restart the system and select F8 to start in Safe Mode. Run anti-virus protection and reboot the system. re-connect the Internet connection once the system can boot normally...

The first two answers are correct but you probably don't know how to do anything without the use of your desktop, do you? Hit the key in the lower left corner of the keyboard with the windows logo on it. You can access anything on your computer from here.

First of all , scan the PC against spy ware and viruses with an updated anti virus and anti spy ware, if it doesn't work, try to backup the important files, then reinstall the windows, if this didn't work, then format the whole PC

It could be a virus or malware. try rebooting the system, ifit stays the same you may have to wipe clean your hard drive..I use pctools spyware Doctor and it works great against malware, and spyware.

ummmm I got 3 unfortunate words for you: System Default CD.
It clears out the hard drive which deletes everything unless you backed everything up and it gets rid of the virus you have on there. so you will have to do that.

have u tried a virus scan maybe your computer is using sticky keys u my need to call the company who manufactures your computer.

its ither your infected or out of memory......restart and click start, programs, accessories, system tools and system info. check the status of your memory...
if out of it....try and remove some unwanted programs...than run anti- virus
