A question to the ladies: whats a good, cheap gift that i can get my lady without her thinking i'm cheap?

it depends on how much of your self you want to give her.

if you want to really impress her, just before she wakes up have a hot tub ran with some nice scented candles lit and have her towels and robe ready, float some rose petals on the water, or add some nice scented bath crystals to the water, then when she is relaxing in the water bring her her favorite cappichino and a hand made card that says, i could have gone out and bought you a gift from a department store like thousands of men did for their ladies, but it would not tell you how much you mean to me, instead i wanted to give you things to let you know that i love you and i am thinking of you.

while she is bathing, get her a little breakfast ready, a muffin and some champagne and orange juice mixed in a glass with ice. something simple but elegant.when she gets out of the tub give her a massage and rub some nice lotion on her feet. then spend the day waiting on her and telling her she is beautiful. take her for a walk or for a drive and hold her hand.

she will feel like a million and you will have made her feel that way!

I think a nice evening of pampering at home. Can you cook? A simple meal is sure to win her over.
