removing nail polish from fake nails?

Hi I have fake nails and have put a coat of nail polish on them but it looks awful. So I want to remove it but acetone removes fake nails and nail polish has acetone in so I don't know what to do. Any ideas would be really appreciated. Thankyou.

If you have acrylic nails, you can simply use your acetone based polish remover. It will not harm your nails unless you soak them in it. Acetone polish remover actually works alot better when removing red or any dark color polish. If you dont feel comfortable and would feel better not worrying about the acetone, go purchase some acetone free polish remover. It takes a lil more scrubbing but it works.

any non-acetone remover will work fine. I don't think anything else takes nail polish off other than non-acetone removers. The acetone creates a chemical reaction with the acrylic and removes it, makes it dull, and soft...

I left mine in a bowl of nail varnish remover for a while then the polish just wiped off.

Can you paint over it? Because if you paint ove rit, you can wipe it off. Sounds weird, but it works.
