Gaming consoles safe to use for new projection (LCoS) TVs?

My parent just bought a JVC 70 inch LCoS TV (Liquid Crystal on Silicon: it's a new hybrid LCD/projection TV). It's a 1080p widescreen HDTV.

The probelm is that my younger brother who lives with my parents bought the new Playstation 3, but my mother is refusing to let him hook up the PS3 (or any other gaming console) to the new TV. She believes that gaming consoles of any kind, including the PS3 (which is 1080 compatible) will be harmful to this TV. Her explanation: Screen burn-in, shorter TV life, etc. I argued against her notion, telling her the PS3 was made to be used on these kind of TVs and that it's also a blu-ray player, but she's stubborn as always. She says she read it on the internet somewhere that it's not good for projection TVs, if it is true, is it safe to use on the new LCoS display TVs?

I think that I'm right, so is this just BS and mom's just jerking our chain? Thanks. Also, if anyone finds me a link of a reputable source that proves either notion, that'd be great!

You can tell her it's completely safe to hook up a PS3 to the TV. Burn-in is only a problem with plasmas, and you really have to want to burn a picture in. Generally now a days this will take over 20 hours. Thats 20 hours of the exact same image not moving at all.

As far as LCoS TVs. There is absolutely no issue of burn-in. Also the TV has no idea whats being plugged into it. There is nothing different about a PS3 then let's say a cable box. The TV has no idea what its dislaying. There is absolutely nothing that a PS3 can do to harm the TV.

You can tell her I have worked in high-end home theatre for over 3 years and I have a Master's in Electrical Engineering. If you need any more help e-mail me at grdmiller@yahoo.com. Anything to allow somene with a PS3 to play it on a 70" HDTV.
