Why does the Press bend over backwards to make good look bad?

I asked a similar question and the huge majority of answers

indicate that, regardless of how "community-minded, fair,

honest, etc" that reporters and editors consider their reporting -

the headlines/articles are written in such a way as to attract attention and sell papers. The truth ends up being hidden

and money-making ends up being the priority.

It's reporting what each sides are claiming. Just because you might find it difficult to comprehend the article doesn't mean it is written in a way that favors either side. I don't think they're making 'good look bad'. You're just frustrated because it doesn't say estranged husband evil, mother angel. I think its reader's perception and expectation clashing with neutral nature of news articles.

Same reason why people like you read it, got you didn't it? If everything was the way you wanted it you wouldn't pay as much attention. The news can sometimes be the news. Called creating the hype.

The press have nothing else better to do but to lie about other people,obviously they have no life and should try to get one,or they aren't very good at their job so they have to make stuff up or over exaggerate its pathetic really...

i wont bother reading , I just know it'll be crap. The press are whores and control your mind. At least they are good for getting people warlike when the need arises. The front pages say it all......the biggest thing that happened in the world today is some sportsman sent a dirty sms to a girlfriend.....snore

If they told the story correctly, the government would have to do something about the two men being held illegally in Beirut.

It satisfies the first rule of a newspaper. It sells Papers.
