I've gotten some decent answers to questions i've asked; however, i see a lot of people posting ridiculous banter just to gain points.
My greatest concern is that people who ask medical questions about themselves or their family, and even their pets, will actually take some of the answers they get seriously. Legal questions fall into the same category. I answer these questions when i feel i have something reasonable to contribute, but i try to put a disclaimer on each one to either consult their physician or attorney and to never take medical or legal advice from strangers over the internet.
Do i take it seriously? No, not overly much, though there is good information occasionally if one has the sense to sort through and discard the junk.

Yes. My kids have recently started using the net to get cheats for games, and although I try supervise them, I am not always in the room when they search. I wanted some software to stop them accidentally accessing the bad stuff or downloading some junk. I knew it would cost me cash, but I asked on here if anyone knew any free software that would do the job. Within minutes I had been told about K9 blucoat. Saved myself about £30 and an annual subscription.

Verifiable common subject matters are possibly found here, beyond which, exercise humour for which only the Askers will know their objectives.
Observe at relative safe distance from a computer, the commonality and differences of issues which communities of varying ages round the world bring to this table, or should one say Internet. (Barring commercial interests of the site provider.)
Take a large pinch of salt and have fun.

I wouldn't take it totally serious, depends on the question. I've asked some questions that I would just like to hear other people opinions on the matter...I wouldn't choose an answer and go with it. Some questions on here make no sense, but eh...it's the internet.

I just joined and looking at some of the submissions I would not Rely on information given. Now some of them spark or divert a different path to seek other information that might be reliable.

I have certainly found some reassurance on here when worrying abiout things.. Although most pf the people on here are lovely and give good advice, there are some nasty people here too who like to say stupid things to wind people up.. So I only take positive, genuine comments seriously and ignore the jerks

To be honest the way I have seen some people answer questions on here I would not post anything too serious.

I have gotten partial help, but what bothers me is when I get some answers that is not germane to the question and just seems to be an excuse to get ripped by someone

It has helpe me in some things, yes. But most of all, I have found a very supportive network of people. I recently went through a miscarriage and was able to post and get reassurring answers from wonderful people.

Not really. I mean, nowadays you can't trust anyone, especially on the internet. It's best to keep total trust in face-to-face contact, not some website. I love this place, but I can't be 100% sure on anybody.
