do you agree with the death penalty for 16 year olds in america?

there are 28 ,16 year olds at this moment on death row, waiting to die ,is this right,in england we dont have this ,we just lock them up ,we dont kill them ,we reabilitate them ,

should kids that kill, have their back grounds looked into more ,,?

could we do more as adults to stop kids going down this road.?

what drives a kid this age to kill?

how many kids that have killed have been loaded with drugs?

should america get rid of the death penalty?

or should england have the death penalty?

would it make any difference either way,as a deterant to others ?

No you don't. You lock them up with other criminals, so they get the best criminal education, then let them out to re-offend. You have a miserable record in re-offenders.

I don't support the death penalty for anyone, but I do advocate locking them up for LIFE, meaning until they are dead - no chance of ever getting out. If you take a life, you lose your own - no second chance. Your victim doesn't get a second chance, so why should you?

I think that is a little harsh...16 year olds at least have some growing up to do yet, they COULD mature with age. However, it would depend on the crime. Some crimes are so heinous that the person who committed them is just evil and cannot be helped...I think that probably the age should be 18, like it is for most everything else. That is when you are no longer considered a minor, but an adult.

Yes, there is much we could do as adults to help kids from going down this road. Be parents! Teach your kids right from wrong. Teach them respect. Teach them about God. etc. etc. etc.

I have no idea what drives these kids to kill...probably a bad home life, or no respect for others lives, or they just don't care about anyone but themselves...etc. The Devil...

How would I know how many were on drugs...

I don't know if we should get rid of the death penalty...I don't know if it is wrong or right, but I know I feel better knowing those people are dead than thinking they could possibly be on the street again someday...

I think it does a little bit of difference...if nothing else, it could be used as a scare tactic...and hey, if it keeps even one person from being killed, that's great!

  • i agree with it..kids here in america have become out of control...for instance iw as reading in the paper today about how a 9 year old stabbed a 2 year old to death....few years ago there was a huge thing about how a 10 year old raped and killed a 5 year old girl who lived down the street...there was a kid on oprah who at 7 years old took a baseball bat and beat a handicapped kid to death...there are 16 year olds going into schools and shooting and killing 10 of their classmates...if we spared every person from the death penalty b/c they were loaded on drugs there wouldnt be a whole lot of people on deathrow...being put into the system at a young age doesnt rehabilitate its been proven that all it does is teach them how to become worse criminals..and if theyre committing crimes to be on deathrow at 16 who knows what they would have done between 16 and 21 to our country...most criminals end up back in the system for worse crimes...rape leads to more rapes ..more rapes lead to killing etc..a vicious sad cycle

I think at 16 you are old enough to be put to death. You are old enough to know right from wrong. As I said in a previous question. When you are found guilty of murder or a death offense. They should take you straight out of the court house and hung right then. Not one month or 25 years later. NO appeals no last meal no good bye's.

The death penalty law itself should be a deterrent. We need to keep the law. If we didn't have it there would be MORE kids committing serious crimes. I do believe they should be screened for mental problems. If they are found to be mentally deficient, they should be kept in prison but not given the death penalty.

no the legal age should be of years 21 and up. Although you should be able to trial a 16 year old as an adult depending on the case.

    I agree with it.

unless the person is of diminished capacity at 16 you know the difference between right and wrong. a lot of adolescents today commit serious crimes because they know the criminal justice system is a joke. cops and DA's work their butts off to find criminals and evidence then either loop holes in the laws or sympathetic jury's let them go.

Well the death penalty has one great advantage. The culprits never reoffend In my humble opinion they'res too many people in prisons who should be in cemetaries

Old enough to do the crime, old enough to do the time,or in this case, to die for it.
