How much should a 15 year old, a freshman in high school.. spend on her bf or gf for Valentines Day?

The reason I am asking is because I have heard other girls talking and say they give out 200.00 gift certifcates to their bf's to go spend on whatever they wanted to go get hunting gear..or fishing gear..and the boys give out 3 dozen roses to their gf's..I think that is going overboard..and I think a girls should be old enough to truly appreciate the meaning of getting roses from a young man ..maybe I am way too old..What kind of parent encourages this?..To me its like a competition among the parents to see who gives the most expensive gift ..I think they have lost the prospective of Valentines Day..I dont know maybe I am wrong but what do you all think?

i think is not how much you spend but how much the gift means to the person

I think a gift should come your heart. I don't believe you should have to spend a whole lot of money on your gift. It could be a hold made card and a dinner at home or even out to dinner. Just something from the heart is the best gift of all.

it does not really depend on the nature of that 15yr old guy , but his/her parents who r not giving time to their child. now, girls and boys have started celebratindg this at a very early age. yesterday, i found a boy throwing an aeroplane on a girl .when that girl picked up and saw what was written on it ,she saw,"babes, i like u". i think that the boyz and girls should just remain as friends and spend their time with each other

You can buy a more than decent gift for $20 and that is plenty.

$200 !! Wowie. You sound very mature for your age, too bad your classmates aren't. $20 is more than enough. You guys are young (and most likely not working) and if someone is expecting more than that, then they aren't worth your time.
