Computer Networking @ home?
I work from home on a computer provided by the company. I also have my own computer too. I have a wireless modem for DSL & printer on my work computer. How can I hook them together to use the internet & printer on my home computer?
My work computer is set up on it own. It is not connected to the network at my company.

You can't join them together because your work computer most likely is part of a domain. This comes from work and would have to be done via an it person at your work. If you have a wireless modem, you can hook your home computer into the modem and share the internet connection. After you hook into the modem, go to start, control panel, and internet connections. Go to network connections and right click. Select tcp/ip and click on properties. You can then configure your ip addess to work with the router. It will probably read something like 192.168.1.100 subnet will be 255.255.255.0 and the default gateway will be 192.168.1.1 and the DNS will be the same as the default gateway. You set up your own Local Area Network (LAN) just like they have at work. For a small home office, all that really means is that you have an ethernet switch which both your personal and office PC and equipments plug into. Then the output of the ethernet switch gets plugged into the DSL router which is known as your Wide Area Network (WAN) connection to the internet.
