Get yourself some confidence, girl! Keep your perserverance up if you want to lose weight. I myself felt the same way about a year ago (haha I was only 12). I was like 140 lbs & 5'3. I spent my summer walking about 3 miles a day (or 1/2 hour - 1 hour on treadmill), avoided junk food like it was the plague, and tried to eat healthier. I drank loads of water, tried to eat an apple a day, and broke down my meals into 5 small ones, instead of the usual three, for it boosts your metabolism (which results in your burning calories quicker!!). Since I'm still only 13, I grew about an inch, and lost about 15 lbs (there's also a chance you'll lose some baby weight, just depends on your age). I'm pretty secured about my weight now, and I'm like not allowed to lose anymore weight, ha. Now I just need to tone up. :-(
BTW - you're NOT worthless; I bet you have a least one friend, if not plenty of them. You're just too down in the dumps to acknowledge this. I remember a chain letter thingy I read a couple of years ago -- There's at least 3 people who think about you before they go to bed at night, and you have at least 10 friends, whether you realize it or not (ok, maybe not the EXACT quotes -- but close to it!).
Pretty clothes can & WILL work out for you. Just depends on what clothes you think are "pretty" -- miniskirts & bellyshirts or comfy jeans & a cute tunic.
It just depends on your attitude. Start today! Eat 5 healthy meals (at around 10 AM, 12 PM, 2 PM, 4 PM, 6 PM), spend about 30 minutes - 1 hour walking, and just dance crazily while watching/listening to MTV! That might help too. :-P
Good Luck!

First off, 5'3" and 135 is not obese. (I'm 135 and 4'11" for the record) You may not be happy with the way you are proportioned at the moment, but you're not "fat" in the medical sense. Rather than focusing on the scale, focus on how you want to look. Do you want smaller hips? A narrower waist? Perhaps you'd like to firm your thighs? Visualize what you want your body to look like (within reason) and begin an exercise plan with that in mind. Diet is important, too, but I'd focus on the exercise to help shape your body. Use measurements as your guide, rather than the scale.
Realize, though, that we're all stuck to some degree or other with a genetic chip on our shoulder. Very few girls can be ultra-thin and healthy. Those that are in their teens usually don't stay that way through their adult life! Don't get discouraged by the super skinny girls in the mall or some clothes that don't fit. Redirect the anger towards finding clothes that look good on *you* and finding a healthy self and self-image.

Okay, first I will say you are no wheres near obese. With that said, loosing those few extra pounds is a snap if you make sure, and I mean, make sure you are not eating any MSG or high fructose corn syrup at all.
I had a problem loosing the 10 pounds for a long time. I am not a big eater and shouldn't have been 10 pounds overweight. I researched it and found out I was consuming MSG and corn syrup. I changed my diet to be free of these 2 and the weight just came right off. I only mildly exercised by walking every day for a mile or two. I lost the weight in no time at all. That was it. I am now convinced that MSG makes you fat and I avoid it at all costs. I left you a link for some interesting reading. Just adjust your diet to remove this harmful fat making ingredient. MSG is a food addiction substance and should be removed from all foods, but instead they pack it in ALL our foods, especially fast foods and dining out.

Well, your NOT fat actually, your BMI (body mass index) is 24. Which is Normal. So don't worry about that. Also if you want to drop some pounds, go for a jog with your friends 5 times a week or something, for about a mile. If your friends cant always come with you, take a CD player or an iPod to listen to if you have one. Also, drink A LOT OF WATER. It's 0 calories plus it helps speed up your metabolism (meaning you'll brun calories FASTER.) So remember, jogging is really good, also jumping on a trampoline or something, and drink fruit shakes too. Like with water, Ice, strawberries, bannanas and apple juice. And get athletic, join a lot of sports, and do something new EVERY season! Good luckkk!

You have to do something and stick with it. Most results are not seen for a while. I suggest hiring a trainer and a nutritionist they will help you figure out whats best for you!
