I was allowed to take benadryl at night to help me sleep when I was pregnant. I had severe insomnia and the benadryl helped, and was safe according to my doctor. BUT every doctor is different and have different opinions on what is safe or not. Call your doctor's office and ask the nurse, or if you have Kaiser, call the advice line. They will be able to help you with this one.

I am 14 weeks and my OB/GYN gave me a flyer with approved medications in the first trimester. Benedryl is listed as safe but I would not take anything this early unless it is reqired and unless your Doctor says it is OK. Better a little uncomfortable than a lifetime of health issues for your baby.
Good Luck.
Call your doctor, ask a quick question. You can even call any Drs office and ask.

Yes, you can take Benedryl....however, as with any medication, you should consult your doctor first. My OB/GYN gave me a list of what can and cannot be taken and Benedryl is ok....so is Sudafed.

I read somewhere that you shouldn't take benedryl, but in another place it said it was safe. One website said that it hasn't been adequately studied, in which case, I would stay away from it. I would ask your doc though.

My doctor gave me a list of medicines that were ok to take while pregnant and Benadryl was on the list.
So, the answer is, yes, you can take Benadryl in the recommended doses.
Good luck!

do no longer take any medicine if it has no longer been authorized via your healthcare expert. I won't additionally motivate you to maintain on taking seriquil for something of your being pregnant. considering your toddler's nicely being pretty relies upon on your well being too, it somewhat is sweet to think again with reference to the medicine which you employ to help you sleep. consistent with danger it's time to think of roughly different thoughts different than those that require medicine. I wish you the main suitable.

ask your ob/gyn. mine said that one benadryl at night would pose no danger, but i don't know your individual circumstances. (i had extremely itchy skin, and no cream or lotion helped) play it safe and call your doc.

Unless you have a high risk pregnancy already, it should be just fine.
