So now that the Dems have control of the House and Senate what great accomplishments?

Question

Do all you Bush haters think that they are going to do that will make all of your ranting worse it? Seeing as how they had control of at least 2 of either the Presidency, House or Senate for 40 years and didn't do anything but make so called social reforms that didn't do any good at all?  Except making this a society that thinks it's the governments job to take care of them from the cradle to the grave?

Dems will work miracles. First they raise taxes on working people so they can then give more money to illegal aliens and people who can work but won't. Why, for their vote. Then they will raise taxes again so they can give SS benefits to illegal aliens. Then they will raise taxes again so they provide the worst health care in the civilized free world. Then, when people start to complain about the taxes they will cut military spending making us more vulnerable to attack by terrorist. But they will make it all okay because the Dem's will ask the terrorist if we can all get along and it will make them like us so they won't attack us. 
We have so much to look forward to from the Dem's.

You make some interesting points. The Democrats did win the House & Senate but they did so by doing 2 important things. The first is that they ran candidates that expressed more conservative & mainstream values than does the Democrat leadership does itself. The 2nd was that they constantly critical of Bush's policies with offering alternatives. Even with their newfound power the Democrats are straight jacketed by many constraints. Raising taxes is a good example if they were to raise taxes they would pay a heavy price at the polls... So Dems will act more like Republicans then they would like...

There will a lot of interesting investigations into the mishandling of the Iraq war and the attacks on civil liberties. I'm pretty sure only the surface of the misdeeds have been scratched. Once the investigations begin they will almost certainly snowball and some very entertaining news will come to the light of day.

I agree, I don't think much is gonna change.  It's still evident that they aren't gonna be successful in withdrawing our troops.  It's too dangerous to withdraw them and they know that.  They just said those things to get votes.  Nothing will change and I will put money on that.
