I have TiVo and my only regret is not getting it sooner!

I think right now you can get it for as low as $13/14 per month, which is well worth it. You can set it to record all your favorite shows, plus you can enter a key word or actor/director name and it will record all the shows with that in the description. Also, you can fast forward through commercials and spend less time watching TV in general, which leaves you with more free time for whatever else. I have lots of favorite shows and used to not go out on certain nights because my shows were on. Now, I don't ever worry and I watch the shows on MY time.

It's really easy to set up. The only bad thing is the warranties are crap. (90 days). Mine started acting weird (mainly freezing) after five months and I thought it was the hard drive. Since the warranty was over it would have cost me $50 plus postage to get it fixed. Soon after that it stopped acting up and has been fine ever since. Customer service is really helpful though.

only if you really like tv, feel you're missing out on several shows you love and have the time to watch all the things you've TiVo'd. plus TiVo is the original and is what the other DVR's use as a base. There's a lawsuit put out by TiVo for copywrite infringement. You'll also be paying more in the end with The Dish or Cable DVR's than you would with TiVo.

I love Tivo. Definitely worth it. You can program it even if you're not at home!

really really worth it. it is not like a clunky vcr at all. and even if you are not the biggest TV buff, it is great to have a little time to kill and bring up your Tivo (or DVR) menu and have a big selection of stuff to watch. i collect some of my favorite movies and watch them later.

If you watch alot of TV you should get it but you should get a DVR from your local cable because its cheaper than TIVO and DVR comes without all those extra features.

yes, pause and rewind live tv...love it! record things all the time, and it actually 'learns' what kinds of shows you like.
