I had to sign a form for chronic pain meds but i have another serious prob. Am I gonna get n trouble?

Check with the original prescribing physician.

Your contract that you signed is probably in effect for as long as that Dr. treats your back. If you have additional medical problems and you are prescribed different pain meds and you need them, take them. I'm not sure who or why they made you sign a contract like that in the first place. Just be careful alot of those meds can be very addicting. Dont mix the 2 medications.

It is in effect for the duration that you are on the pain meds. As long as you informed the oral surgeon about the pain meds you are allready taking for the back problem it will not be a problem. Different pain meds treat different things. The agreement you signed is so you don't seek additional pain meds or meds of the same kind from another dr. for the same condition. A NEW condition is different. After the surgery, yu wont need them for long anyway. EVERYONE who is prescribed narcotics must sign one of those forms now.

First, I would find out exactly what that "something" you were asked to sign said specifically about which narcotics and for what specific type of ailment they have restrictions on. I'm sure they wouldn't want you to suffer an oral infection from no antibiotics because of back pain meds from a month ago, that would be a little negligent on their part. Second, you should go find all drugs and their interactions @ www.webmd.com. Don't stress too much though, it'll work out.

I had to do that and it was a problem. I had a root canal done on friday and could not get ahold of the pain management Dr and suffered from it. Do make arrangements with your pain management Dr or have your Dentist call him ahead of time so that it will be charted.

I ended up changed physicians who did not use pain managment clinic and was better off for it. Be careful with tylenol it large doses can kill off your liver.

Call the doctor who had you sign the form and ask if that means you can't get pain meds for your wisdom teeth.

You should notify both doctors of the meds you are on. That way they have no reason to suspect that you are a drug seeker. And also, you won't be in danger of combining pills that will kill you. Which, incidentally, I have seen happen many, many times.

You need to discuss the meds with your doctor. Each doctor should be aware what the other doctor has given and you need to use the same pharmacy. You have to be careful that nothing reacts with the other medicines. Perhaps the oral surgeon will tell you to use the unused pills from the first doctor.

U should be fine, as long as no form had to be filled out for the tylenol 3. but make sure u aren't over-medicating yourself. do u really need the extra med tho, i mean if ur already on something, do u need more?

I had to sign the same paper it just means that there keeping track of your useage, and that your not abusing the medication, i dont know your serious problem, so i dont know if you will get in trouble. Chris
