When coasting toward the 1000 point mark, did other Yanswerers throw away pts by asking 'novelty' questions???

Rhapsody is so hot, I'd almost think about learning Welsh... well, maybe not that hot...

    If the mood hits me I ask a question no matter what level I am about to reach....and they are all for novelty sake

    No. I'm focusing my attention on trying to help people by answering, and earning more points so that I can feel good about moving up levels.

    I don't think of it as throwing points away. You can't do anything with them. Why not use them.
