APPLICATION/DMGs IN MAC OSX?
When a dmg has been downloaded. i often get the message "There is no application to open this file" When you browse and you have a choice, you pick one, it still doesn't open then every time you click the dmg the same application tries....and fails to open it... what do you do?

First go to Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility. Then go to File > Open Disk Image. And then, navigate to the .DMG that you want to open. You can also Drag the DMG to Disk Utility and then select it on the left and click Open in the Toolbar. If it still won't open then there are 2 things that could be going on.
1. corruption of the DMG
2. The DMG is actually a windows file. This has happened to me a few times as well. I'm not sure what the DMG extension in windows is for, but i have seen it a few times.
