Amsterdam trip?

The Flying Pigs is in a relatively quiet street in the middle of everything, close to the Hard Rock café. The last time I saw it it was clean and fairly quiet, but i guess it depends on the season. Winter is not a very touristy season so you might have a whole room for yourself. Be careful of guys posing as pimps, there are no pimps, just pretty (and not-so-pretty) girls behind tall windows, streets full, and many sex shows that are generally funny and short, more for the tourists than real hard core afficionados. i havent found any serious strip joint, i guess i've stopped looking.

If you decide to stay at a hostle be aware that you may not get much rest as some are poorly managed. I stayed at one last year and people were partying through the night,puking on the floor, turning the lights on and off and being generally rude. I'm sure that there are some good ones but do your homework unless you want that animal house atmosphere 24-7

you can stay in hostels instead of hotels. hostels are about 20-25 euros depending on season. but you need to be quiet and respect the other guests.

its where you share a bunk room with between 4-16 people.

your military buddy should be used to it. and you too if you're military. go to hostelworld.com to check out available hostels. a few of them have curfews so it sounds like youll need one that doesnt have one.

i didnt really do much but walk around when i was there. i only went for 1 day. but if you want to stare at the extremely hot prositutes you have to go to the red light street, which is really close to the main station. you can look it up on wikipedia and check out viamichelin.com for european maps.

i heard the prositutes are only 50 euros for 20 minutes if you're into that. but i wouldnt risk getting stds and i got some moral issues to deal with. but they are extremely HOT prostitutes. you can go stare at them for fun in their window booths.
