Ebay Fakes?

I have had bad experience on Ebay with seller from Chine. He sold fake painting as an original and insisted that it was the original one. After contacting Ebay, I have impression that they don't care about fake unless they don't get their fees. They won't let me to contact other buyers who got pictures from that seller. Is anybody have had the same experience with Ebay? I published the information at http://www.geocities.com/antiquefan2005/saga38.htm...

    that is so sad..

didn't you read before hand about the fake art coming out of China

    it is..a big thing...

they sell.. the.. reproductions of music..and don't care about the artists..or the artists being paid through copywrites...it is a big thing..

if they can reproduce it..they do it...everything..

you have to know your artwork..and be a pro and suck it up

    sorry..

ebay..does have a thing where for an ebay price ebay will authentic stuff..

i know i am telling you something you don't want to hear..

but some people have been taken for lots of cash..

you don't say how much your out..but some have lost big time from China's reproduction market..

    if it says China..beware...

    sorry for your experience....

mine was 2 statues..I wasn't out lots....and had to knock it off as I paid for a dinner for some family in China..

    Learn from this experience..

    Don't get bitter..

you ask questions.. you send email..you ask..to see signatures..

    a repo..is that...........aging artifical..and they are good at it..

if it's a piece you like and enjoy..let the grandkids play with it when they come to visit..I love to watch my grandchildren play dollies with the 2 fake statues and when one broke and they felt..bad ..i could..say with genuine enthusiasm..it was okey..i felt like smashing it myself..

so ..hate to say it..but take it for experience..

another one..big faker..is China is faking porcelain..and very very clever on it..I think ebay..has a thing so you can tell..the real from the imposter..cause some people that have the fake..just hate..to..take it and pass it on.. so you can do that...myself..i get great joy out of watching my grandchildren..smack the 2 fake statues.....just me...

Did you pay via PayPal? If you did, you are covered up to $1000 under the PayPal Buyer Protection. You will have to file a SNAD dispute (Significantly Not As Described) with PayPal, not Ebay. You can contact Ebay's Trust & Safety department & make them aware of this seller. They will look into it. Go to Ebay's home page, click Live Help & ask them how to direct you to the Trust & Safety division. Unfortunately, this happens alot. They are now restricting sellers accounts to crack down on this problem. The following link will give you more info from PayPal. The dispute must be opened within 45 days of the transaction. You must escalate the claim immediately after filing the dispute or it will automatically close. PayPal will put a hold on the sellers funds until resolved. You will most likely have to ship the painting to PayPal on your dime but you will most likely get your money back. Good Luck.

I agree with shopper_1. Go through PayPal to mediate the issue.

On another note, if you had paid with a credit card, you could contact your creditor and do a chargeback for the purchase.
