Go to www.microsoft.com and go to the Download page and download the latest DirectX which is DirectX 9C. Install, and reboot it and hopefully the game works

What video card are you using? My suggestion is to buy a basic nvidia card for under $100 and you will not have this problem. Directx updates i doubt will do the trick. I think it's an old video card or integrated into the mobo. If you can't buy a new one, try updating the drivers of your video card and this may help.

do you have the latest version of direct3D and is your video card compatible?
