How does this make sense?

Are there really enough dumb people in the world to give Wang the TYIB award for best starter in the mlb (WITH 47% OF THE VOTES!!!) over Johan Santana and other legitimate pitchers or is there some strange warped reasoning behind this? By the way I know the awards came out a while ago.

Well, if it includes international voting, then you can probably guess why he won. Same thing why Yao Ming was chosen as the starting center for the West instead of Shaq when Shaq was still with the Lakers.

China has over 1 billion people, so even if 1% voted, that's still a lot of votes, 10 million. You can bet that all those that voted in China voted for Wang.

I'm a Yankee fan but I was shocked too that Wang won over Santana. However, the Cy Young means more.

most likely there was some form of fan voting for it to turn out that way... heh.. ask the hitters in MLB, and i'm willing to be most would much rather hit against Wang then against ol' Johan... that changeup is just nasty

I haven't seen him pitch, but Carp (Carpenter) had good reason to get it also.
