when you love someone, it does not matter if he is your child, father, brother, friend and they pass away, you cry and grieve for them because you will never see them again. what does it matter what he did, to her he is her father and if she loves him, she certainly cried when he died.
there are parents who have children in prison who committed crimes. even though they know their child did wrong, they still love them since love is unconditional. they grieve too like any normal human being who lost a love one. families of criminals and families of victims grieve because they lost someone they love. the only difference is that the families of criminals feel guilt for what wrong was done and wonder if they could have prevented it.
grief has nothing to do with right or wrong....it has everything to do with loving a person, nurturing them, bringing them up, or remembering the parent who used to play with them and taking care of them. ....love has nothing to do with logic, it has to do with feelings, emotions, memories of the time they had together. even animals, specially primates, grieve when their offsprings are killed by hunters so why begrudge a human being the same feeling.
so, if you human and know what it is to lose a parent, you can identify with the pain Saddam's daughter is going through.....

Since the ancient greek stories of Antigone and Electra, daughters have defended and protected their fathers, often with a blind eye to the man's behavior and faults. Its part of the nature of the father , daughter relationship. Odysseus was literally his daughters brother, but Antigone still stood by him, Agamemmnon killed his youngest daughter Iphegenia as a sacrifice, but Electra stood by him and wanted him to defend his murder. I feel pity for Saddams daughter, because she will never know the love of a true father, she will spend her life mourning a man the world will revile. Its going to be a lonely life for her with no satisfaction or understanding.

As a humanitarian, yes. But, why should she? Her own husband was killed by Saddam, along with 39 other family members. I guess she has a short memory of just how cruel her father was.

I feel sorry for her mainly because she is connected to Saddam as a result of the randomness of being born his daughter.
Just as the victims of a crime (or the survivors of the victim) are very biased as to what should happen to the perpetrator of the crime, so are the relatives of the perpetrator biased as to what the penalty should be.
Conclusion: we can feel sorry for her, but we certainly can't say that the court's decision was wrong because of the increased sadness it causes her.

Yes I feel pity for her cause her father executed her husband and his brother who was the husband of her sister so I don't feel shocked if she loves her father that much and to cry his death
