My IPOD has a mind of its own?

When I select a song to play, it randomly scrolls through and chooses another song by itself! The "shuffle" is not on, yet it wont let you play the song you select. I have tried several different songs, the same thing happens.

Occassionly songs on the ipod can be corruptand wont play so it jumps to the next available song. This can happen if itunes crashes whilst updating or if you have unplugged the ipod when it says not too. I have only had this problem myself, a couple of times.

The easiest and simplest way to explain is first reboot the ipod.

Hold down the menu button and the select button (centre button) together and it will shut down the ipod and show the apple logo. Wait for it to restart and see if problem has resolved.

If not, connect the ipod to your pc. Wait for the ipod to show up and select "restore" This will wipe your ipod, but if all your songs are on the pc, it shouldnt matter, you may just have to wait a while whilst they upload again.

    Good luck
