Vegas is known for gambling, drinking, and getting and getting randomly married to people you don't know. So, people tend to do a lot of crazy things there, especially if they ar ein vegas for a holiday. Therfore, if I go to vegas, blow all my money on a gamble, get drunk, and then get married to some guy in a chaple, then I would want whatever happened in Vegas, to reamin in vegas. I.e. I would not want anyoneto know what I did in Vegas when I return back to London.

The phrase was coined in an ad campaign sponsored by the Las Vegas Tourism Board. It was part of an effort to restore Vegas' reputation as "Sin City" after a largely failed attempt to turn Vegas into a "family destination" in the late 90s. The campaign targeted young singles and is considered a big success.

Go to Vegas and you'll understand. With stuff going on all night and all day, it's easy to do stuff that you wouldn't normally do and may not want to tell anyone about.

No other place can do what Vegas does - cannot imitate - duplicate - or replicate Vegas; hince what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.

means after leaving vegas, it's as if nothing had happened there. all that had happened in vegas are forgotten when you're already on your hometown.

Its a brilliant marketing slogan to attract gambling addicts and various other derelicts to come to Vegas and spend all their money.
