Whats the point of thumbs up, thumbs down?

It gives feeble minded simpletons the illusion of control. Meanwhile they bray like sheep at the command of their chimp overlord and his bloodlust war for oil and world domination. All at the expense of the american middle class.

If your answer is chosen as Best Answer, you get 1 point for each thumbs-up you have on your answer, up to the first 50. So, it does get you some points. Otherwise, it just seems to give a feeling of power to some of the folks out there!

CHAZZER, YAHZMIN is exactly right. The number of thumbs up your answer gets adds 1 point each to your 10 points if chosen best answer. You'll see.

I never have seen this best answer based on the thumbs up bit...I have only received 10 points every time for a best answer. So don't listen to that guy!!!!!
