What is the longest train journey in the UK?

I've heard it takes over 11 hours to get from Exeter to Scotland, can anyone beat that?

The 11 hours is the easy bit!

Thurso (far north of Scotland) to Penzance is 22 hours 48 minutes.

I assume that the questionner means 'what is the longest train journey that can be made without changing trains' That, I would guess, would be the Virgin Cross Country service VT3 Aberdeen-Penzance A full map of VT x country can be found at http://www.virgintrains.co.uk/travelling_with_us/o...

Much longer journeys can be made by changing trains and taking weird routes (after getting a 2nd mortgage to pay the fares, of course!)

Presently, the longest train journey in the UK, in terms of mileage is the 08.30 Penzance - Dundee, which comes in at 701 miles, and takes 11 hours 48 minutes

wick to penzance is the longest but also depends on if the train stops at every stop or if its a fast service

bit of random information, there was once a train station in Norfolk called Thuxton...lol

The Caledonian Sleeper goes from Fort William at 6:30 pm and arrives at London Euston at 7:43 pm on Sundays. If you get a bargain berth you can travel on it for only £19 too!

Thurso to Penzance. Mind you, it can take just as long to get from London Bridge to Esher.
