Some of the songs I have on itunes go mute, can I undo this?

They are in MP3 format, some of them go quiet, others go completely inaudible. They are all ripped from legitimate cd's that I have bought. I have tried balancing them with 3rd party applications but this doesn't seem to keep them right.

Update:

Just one answer? Seriously? Don't get me wrong, but the best answer out of one is not much of an accolade. No offence but I want to give this more time.
