I know basically how to make it and the cold weather and thinning it down by mixing i with normal diesel. Does any one know exactly how to make it?

    yep. you are taking the oil or grease or whatever and doing a trans-esterification reaction to make methyl esters (the part that you will call bio diesel.) by products from the reaction are water and glycerol. The sodium hydroxide is used to catalyze the reaction. You can also use ethanol, it will make ethyl esters. There are more than one really good way to make it. You should check out some of the recipes provided on the Internet. Some are really informative. Obtain a recipe because the stochiometric values are very important in the production of quality bio diesel. Good luck........

    a diesel will run off straight resturaunt grease, but there is the cold weather issue. there is blended bio diesel that is a mix of diesel and refined vegetable oil,there is a refining process for the vegetable oil that actually turns it into a type of diesel

    if you're going to use it in a car, make sure you check your fuel injectors after about a week or so... the bio diesel will clean the fuel lines and will deposit everything in the injectors. you may also want to find out how to avoid gelling... that could be a problem if it gets too cold X_X
