Are you completely blown away buy this observation on yahoo question?

I have a huge observation and would like some other opinions. I have observed that there are many people posting questions that are not spelled correctly (simple words second grade) incomplete sentences or sometimes just a copulation of jumbled of words that don't make sense.

For example: Questions on a instant massage. Believe me you don’t want an instant massage, you want an instant message.

What do you think is the reason?

A . Symptoms of failed education systems

B. Can't figure out how to use spell checker

C. Sloppy and don't care

D. English as second language

E. Failed English

F. Don't care

actually, instant massage sounds kind of good, as a prelude to a copulation of jumbled of words.

If you are in an occupation where you have written communication with anybody at all...you will notice the same thing....up to and including management levels. I think A, C, and F probably cover it.

And BTW....let s/he who is without sin cast the first stone....or you run the risk of being blown away buy (sic) your own observation

Most people dont want to go through the whole process of spelling everything out. They want to quickly state their opinion.

For example, If I were one of those people I would have made my answer look like this:

most peeps don wanna go thru whole process of spelln it all out they wanna quickly state their opinoin.

Sometimes we just type too fast. I type 75 wpm, so I am always accidently pressing the wrong key. Like when I spelled opinion I accidently spelled opinoin (switching the i and o).

Also, a lot of people are teenagers on here, and are probably so used to talking on IM, which people usually use shortcuts to type, such as ur for your.

Remember that old saying about he who is without sin casting the first stone? To buy is to purchase, and you don't really want anyone to purchase your observation, do you? If you check the fourth line of your message, you find the word copulation, and I'm pretty sure that's not the word you want to use. Compilation fits better and doesn't have reproductive overtones.

I think it is C, D, F, but also many people use internet who write short hand for texting. Additionally, many people of all different backgrounds and educational levels use the internet, not everyone reads or writes regularly and sadly it is a use or loose it skill.

I think it is C and F. Some people just answer as fast as they can to get those 2 points.

I am not interested in the points as much as the communication and knowledge that I have learned researching the questions.

I believe that for most people, the problem is either C or F. For some, A may be partially to blame, also. D is the only valid excuse for some of the incomprehensible drivel I have seen!

The problem is all of the above. The main culprit is C. People are sloppy and don't care.

F, the use of computers has left people lazy when it comes to basic writing skills.

  • You're the one who wrote "instant massage." LOL.

i would say that they are sloppy and just dont care..or maybe are in a hurry to answer like i am (sry)
